Lillian L. Komor (Sevek), 92
Lillian was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Louis and Josephine Sevek. Lil attended Brown Park Grade School and graduated from Omaha South High School in 1950.
After graduation, she worked at Mutual of Omaha and then married Joe Komor in May 1952. They were married 28 years and had two daughters who were the love of her life. Lil returned to work as a secretary at various offices with final retirement from the FDA.
In 1976, Lil went to the Czech Republic to meet many relatives for the first time. Lil could speak, read, and write Czech. After the trip, she kept in contact with several of her relatives with birthday and Christmas cards and letters.
In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with friends. She also volunteered as a greeter at her church. Lil enjoyed music and piano and played at various senior centers and retirement homes. Many retired military veterans would always ask her to play military songs for them. Lil enjoyed music, singing, and playing her piano and accordion for pleasure. Lil was an excellent cook, homemaker, baker, and seamstress. With this being said, she worked part-time as a cake decorator with Jack and Paul Neneman at Neneman’s Bakery in South Omaha. She also made decorated birthday cakes for her family and made decorated cakes for holidays and special occasions.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents,; and sisters, Anna Hruza, Marie Sevek, and Rose Foreman.
She is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Jerry) Thurber and Jeanette (Sam) Hayden; grandchildren, Stephanie Cortese and Nicholas (Crystal) Cortese; brother, Louis Jr. (Pat) Sevek; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association and Tabitha Hospice.
