Frances often said, “Smile and giggle every day!” She made friends easily with her infectious smile and wit, and loved to kid everyone. Her nickname “Ornery” started in grade school and continued her whole life. At Parson’s House, where she lived the last three years, when caregivers, staff and residents asked her how she was doing, she often replied “ornery”.
Frances was an expert seamstress making clothes for herself, her husband Jerry, children and grandchildren. She made wedding gowns for her daughters and all the bridesmaids dresses as well. She loved to bake desserts for family, coworkers, and friends. She was best known for her cream puffs.
Frances and Jerry’s favorite pastime was polka dancing. They followed their polka band, often taking cream puffs to the band members. Everyone enjoyed watching them gliding and spinning around the dance floor. She loved listening to Polish polka music and watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday. Frances also loved working in her flower garden and had the best garden in the neighborhood.
Special thanks to Parson’s House Assisted Living and Peaceful Hearts Hospice.
