Catherine A. Wolfe, 82

Catherine Ann Wolfe passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 6, 2024. She was born to Clarence and Margaret Wolfe on July 13, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in South Omaha, attended South Lincoln Grade School and graduated from Omaha South High School in 1960. Her grade school days were filled playing with siblings and neighborhood kids. At South High, Cathy participated in all sports and was President of the Girls Athletic Association her senior year. Her brother Bob remembers going to one of her basketball games when he was eight years old. He was so impressed that he feels it led him to a life of sports and athletics. She loved Husker everything, especially football and volleyball. Every weekend she would call in a parlay to Bob. It was their thing. Cathy retired from the Douglas County Assessor’s Office after over 30 years of service. She made so many lifelong friends during her time there. Cathy was very close to her aunt Kate Valla. She loved having her over for a cup of coffee and for the holidays. She enjoyed their conversations. The family will always be grateful to Elena Headley for everything she has done for Cathy especially over the last couple of years. Their friendship was amazing. Cathy was a loving and caring sister and aunt. She was not afraid to speak her mind! She had so many friends, touched so many lives. She was strong in her Christian faith and loved her God. We know Cathy is with family and friends that have gone before her and she is at peace.

Preceded in death by parents Margaret and Clarence Wolfe Sr.; sister Margaret Rush; brother Clarence R. Wolfe Jr. (Joyce).

Survived by sister Irene; brothers Bob (Julie) Wolfe and Jim Wolfe; aunt Kate Valla; nephews Dan and Bobby Wolfe and other nieces and nephews; longtime friends Armetta family, Elena Headley and family, and Jeannette Putney and family.
