I am a Veteran. Cesar  Rosales, Jr.
September 28, 1950 -  July 20, 2024

César Rosales, Jr., 73

César Rosales, Jr, 73 of Omaha, Nebraska passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, July 20, 2024, ending his courageous battle against cancer.

César was born on September 28, 1950, the oldest child of César Rosales, Sr and Mercedes Alba. A proud graduate of Omaha South High School, he honorably served in the U. S. Army, including a tour in Viet Nam. Soon after discharge, he began to volunteer with G.I. Forum, and used his organizational skills to run basketball tournaments in the 1970s. During this time, he also began to work for OPPD for the next nearly forty years, an opportunity that allowed him to support his young family, make lifelong friends, and serve his community by serving as a coach for his children’s sports teams and running many events for the St Gerald’s Men’s Club. Always a social guy who liked to spend time with others, through the years, he joined multiple slow pitch softball teams, golf leagues, and bowling teams. He was a longtime member of the former American Legion Post 373, including supporting their firework sales operations in the 1990s. He shared his life with his wife, Janet, enjoying many trips to the Gulf Shores, renovating their home, and being lovingly cared for by her during his health struggles. To the end, he was an avid reader, New York Yankees and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan, and a bit lawn proud.

César was preceded in death by his parents, César Rosales, Sr. and Mercedes Alba; sister, Antonette.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Dmyterko; and children Alisa Rosales and Nicholas (Sarah Oliver), of Chicago. He is also survived by Janet’s children Carrie (Jason) Martin, Nick (Nikki) Dmyterko lll, Randy Dmyterko, Tim Dmyterko, and Bob Dmyterko; and all of their beloved children. He is survived by his siblings, Angie (Steve) Luna, Becky Rosales, Reuben (Nancy) Rosales, Armando (Marilyn) Rosales, Jaime Rosales, Connie Rosales-Winters, and Eugene Rosales, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A luncheon will follow the Funeral Mass and interment will take place at a later time.
