I am a Veteran. Bruce  P.  Holman
June 5, 1948 -  December 22, 2023

Bruce P. Holman, 75

Preceded in death by father Ellis Holman, mother Lorraine Holman, and brother-in-law Randy Falk

Survived by wife Barbara; children Doyle B. Ollis, Jr. (Angela) and Denise M. Wuerfele (Dylan); grandsons Alexander P. Abel, Caleb B. Ollis, and Collin D. Ollis; brother Bill Holman (Kathie); sister Gail Falk.

Bruce was born on June 5th, 1948 in Oak Park, Illinois. He attended schools in the suburbs of Clarendon Hills and Hinsdale and graduated from Elmhurst College in 1970.

He joined the USAF in 1970, he served in many locations to include New Mexico, Thailand, South Carolina, Nebraska, Japan, and Okinawa to name a few. He retired as a SMSGT in 1996 at Offutt AFB, Nebraska. After retiring he worked many more years for Rees Security at various government agency buildings.

Bruce loved Gospel Quartet music, sports, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandsons. He would attend as many gospel concerts as he could and attend lots and lots and lots of sporting events with the kids and “boys” (grandsons).

He was a member of Spirit Life Assembly of God (formerly Southside Assembly of God) for 30+ years and loved being a member of the worship team on Sunday mornings. He served on the worship team until he couldn’t stand on stage anymore. It was pure joy for him to listen to songs during the week, practice, and honor his Lord and Savior on stage each week.

Finally, Bruce loved to spend time with Barbara and family eating! He would never miss an opportunity to have lunch or dinner with anyone. He loved “Husker Nacho’s” on gameday and trying new restaurants and foods, there was nothing he didn’t like, and you didn’t dare begin to partake until the food was blessed.

Bruce will be missed by all who knew him; his wonderful disposition and happiness were a ray of sunshine to all around him, but there is comfort and peace in knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Well done my good and faithful servant, well done.
