Maxine A. Vaca, 76

Passed away peacefully at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska after a brief illness. Born in Omaha to Frank and Edith Vaca. Omaha South High School graduate (1965). Earned bachelors degree in business administration and sociology (Cum Laude, 1979) from Bellevue College and a master in public administration (1982) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Former employee of City of Omaha, Peoples Natural Gas, Northern Natural Gas, and Mutual of Omaha.

Brilliant conversationalist, world traveler and dedicated civil servant as a management analyst for the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the United States and Germany. Never let her late-in-life visual impairment stand in her way.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Survived by brother Jerry (Sharon) of Duncanville, Texas; sister Margaret (Winston Jones) of Omaha; nieces Cheryl and Teresa of Texas; great nephew and great nieces, cousins, and friends.
