Tyler John Melichar, 29

It is with deep sorrow and so much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved family member and friend, Tyler John Melichar of Omaha, Nebraska on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. He was much too young at the age of 29. Tyler was energetic and so full of life but experienced a sudden electrical malfunction in his heart causing a fatal cardiac arrest. This has left a deep void in the lives of all who loved him.

Born April 8, 1994, to Lori Easdale (Zimmerman), Tyler became the fulfillment of the long-awaited dream that Ken and Leslie Melichar had to become parents. He was a wonderful son, and later became a dedicated father to his two cherished daughters, Madison and Alice. He loved them both deeply and treasured every moment he could spend with them. He was the fiancée of Ashley who had known him since grade school.

Tyler’s love included his immediate family and a large and loving extended family who will forever cherish and miss him.

Tyler participated in a variety of interests and activities as a child. They included gymnastics, karate, soccer, trumpet, singing, swim team, and church programs and activities at Christ Community Church. He loved video games as a child and as an adult. He adored animals and had many pets. He wanted to rescue them all, and even rescued a deer by hand that was stuck in barbed wire fencing. His favorite pastime by far was to spend time out in nature; hiking, exploring, camping, building fires, or climbing trees.

Tyler will be remembered for his ability to be spontaneous, creative, and resourceful in his nontraditional and unconventional life path.

Melichar; special mom, Lori Zimmerman (Chris Zimmerman); grandmother Kay Emery; half-sisters Kylie Scheivert and Ashley Peters; aunt Lynn Murphy; uncle Jeff Easdale (Danielle); aunt Kim Becker (Joshua Becker); numerous cousins and friends
