Douglas L. Hemsley, 57

Douglas Leigh Hemsley (age 57) of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away surrounded by family and friends on October 27, 2023.

Doug was born April 4, 1966 to Betty Lou Lang and David Leigh Hemsley in Omaha. Doug attended Omaha South High School and after graduating, attended UNO to get his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Doug worked as a Senior Project Manager at the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

Anyone who knew Doug knew he was a kind and compassionate person. He loved to help others and do small acts of kindness for strangers. He enjoyed volunteering at the Stephen Center and participating in the Transplant Games of America with Team Nebraska.

He was always on the go, trying new restaurants, taking trips with family, and going on ice cream runs for chocolate malts or banana splits.

Douglas Hemsley is preceded in death by his parents David Hemsley and Betty (Lang) Hemsley.

He is survived by his daughters, Taylor and Kara Hemsley (Chandler Bowden); granddaughter, Adaline Lou Hemsley Bowden; siblings, Donald Hemsley, Matthew Twohig, PJ Twohig, and Tony Carson; and his many nieces and nephews.
