Frank J. Staskiewicz, Sr., 83, Omaha

Frank passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in the early morning hours of September 9 after fighting through health issues for the past three years. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy of devotion to his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he shared all of his favorite things in life with everyone in the family.

He was preceded in death by his son Bob (2018), his parents Stanley and Sophie, and siblings Lou, Barbara, Dorothy, Mary, Rita, Phyllis, and Rich.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Jean, and their family which includes their other four children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Surviving family includes:
Son Frank, Jr. and wife Karen, Springfield, NE. Grandson Brad, Minneapolis, MN, and granddaughter Andrea Peters (Jed), Springfield, NE. Great grandchildren Ellie and Isaac Peters.

Daughter Kim Huelskamp and husband Paul, Omaha, NE. Granddaughters Amanda, Rockville, MD, and Kristyn Hamilton (Tommy), Omaha, NE, and grandson Nick, Omaha, NE. Great grandson Elijah Hamilton.

Daughter Sandra Fink and husband Don, Bellevue, NE. Grandson Aaron Bittner, Omaha, NE.

Son Greg and wife Susie, Omaha, NE. Grandsons Gregory, Alex, Andrew, Ben and wife Faith, and Will. Great granddaughters Callee and Karlee Staskiewicz (Alex’s).

Brothers Joe (Lucy), Ed (Nancy), and Jim (Lynn). Sisters Theresa Oseka, and Margie Harris. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was a huge Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and a longtime baseball College World Series season ticket holder. He was also a longtime member of Omaha Fish and Wildlife Club (aka Lakeland) where he loved to fish and camp with family. His kids grew up enjoying Lakeland and today each has their own membership. Frank found great joy in roasting Wimmer’s hot dogs for whoever gathered around the family campsite fires for many years.

Frank’s grandchildren brought him great joy as well, and he and Jean attended a lot of their games and activities over the years. The two also enjoyed many trips together as recently as last May when they visited Washington D.C.

The family appreciated the outpouring of support as Frank’s health began to decline recently.

Memorial gifts in Frank's honor will be directed by the family at a later date.

A luncheon in the Holy Ghost Church social hall will follow the interment.
