Member of the Santee Sioux Indian Tribe. Served in the United States Army for 7 years.

Preceded in death by son, Michael Gustafson; great-granddaughter, Alivia Docken; parents, Walfred and Helena Gustafson; brother, Swede Gustafson; sister, Dolores Brown

Survived by wife, Judy Gustafson; children, Richard (Sharon) Gustafson, Angela (Mark) Hook, Suzanne Kriegler, Jacqueline White, Jenea White, and Bradley (Kia) White Jr.; 18 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Joanne Ritchey and son Joe; Edna Brien, and Dorothy Eggleston; many nieces and nephews.
