I am a Veteran. Richard  G.  Merwin
September 18, 1939 -  June 26, 2023

Richard Grove Merwin, 83, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.

He was born to parents Edwin Lawrence and Irene Merwin, on September 18, 1939 in Tecumseh NE.

Richard is survived by sisters Dorothy and Connie,
sons, Dennis (Patti) Zongker, Doug (Dolorous) Merwin and Seth (Rachel) Merwin
as well as grandchildren, Justine (Mike) Walsh, Kaylynn Zongker, Eric (Gabi) Zongker.
Great-grandchildren, Conner, Ariana, Braxton, Declan, Malachi and Elijah.

Richard was a Nebraska artist specializing in sign painting, oil painting, calligraphy, lettering. His work can be seen throughout the Omaha area on windows and walls down in the old market.
He loved when it was football season and made sure he never missed a Nebraska Husker game. When other teams played you always knew who he was rooting for because you could hear him clapping in the distance.

He always had the corniest jokes that most of the time you didn’t get and was waiting for the funny part, but he always laughed which in return made you laugh just because he was.
He was always writing in a little memo pad his thoughts, a drawing idea or a bible verse.

He would randomly take pictures with his phone then wonder how he was going to see it after he took it, he wasn’t into technology, he didn’t know where to find google on his computer or how to check
emails but knew where YouTube was and watched it all the time.

He was a very active member of Westside Church and he would always have bible tracts and if you know Rick you most likely have gotten a few already.
He will be missed dearly.
