Jeanette  M.  Baber
January 15, 1952 -  April 19, 2023

Jeanette Marie Baber 71, passed away on April 19, 2023, from complications of heart disease. Jeanette was born on January 15, 1952 to John and Frances Majkowski in Omaha, Nebraska. Jeanette graduated from Omaha Bryan High School. She married Gary, her true love. Gary and Jeanette had met when she was in the eighth grade. They had one son, Zach. Gary and Jeanette were married for 49 years.

Jeanette was an excellent seamstress. She was employed by JP Original Company, altering Wedding and Bridesmaid dresses. After a few years Jeanette left the company and opened her own alteration business for weddings in her home. Her customers loved her work. She had many repeats and referrals. Jeanette not only did beautiful work, but she was straightforward and honest with advice to brides. Jeanette had to retire from her beloved job due to the progression of arthritis. Plus, by this time, she enjoyed spending time with her two grandkids, Subby and Grace, her pride and joy.

Jeanette always spoke what she thought and felt. Her wit and wisdom were well known. Jeanette had a kind heart without saying much out loud. She was an excellent homemaker. Jeanette was a good cook and baker. She loved cooking big delicious meals for family and friends. Holidays were her favorite. Jeanette’s baking of desserts was wonderful. Pies, cakes, kiffles (cookies that were a Christmas tradition) and cheesecake were indescribable.

Jeanette loved animals. She always had numerous pets, dogs, cats and birds. They all lived the good life and were loved unconditionally.

Jeanette was predeceased by the love of her life, Gary. Her parents John and Frances and her brother, John.

She is survived by her son Zach, daughter-in-law Fon, and two grandchildren Subby and Grace. Siblings: Frances/Cookie (Chuck) Grothe, Carrol (Jim) Barrington, Barbara Vaughn and sister-in-law Linda Majkowski. Along with Gary’s siblings: Joyce (Gus) Johnson, Judy (Clark) Dietzschold, Larry (Sue) Baber, Janice (Larry) Cooklin, Jeanne Baber, and Janel (Dan) Pluta. many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Jeanette would tackle and learn anything. When recovering a couch she was asked if she knew how. NO, but I am learning she answered. Jeanette was the backbone of her family and caregiver for Gary. They really were a team and are now reunited enjoying their Heavenly life. Maybe even a green bean or two.
