Mary  Sundsboe
June 19, 1925 -  October 10, 2011

Mary Murray Sundsboe (1925-2011) lived a long and beautiful life. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Mary was one of five children. At age 16, Mary joined the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS), a branch of the British Royal Navy. It was during this time that she met her husband Manley (Max) Sundsboe who was serving in the U.S. Army stationed in England. Mary immigrated to the United States as a G.I. War bride.

The young couple settled in Benson, where they raised three beautiful daughters.
Mary was known as a fun loving Scot who loved to laugh, dance and sing her favorite tunes as she reminisced about Scotland. Mary became a widow at age 56 and lived independently in her home in Benson.

After 86 years, Mary Murray, the striking "wee lassie" from Glasgow, was peacefully taken by the Lord on Monday, October 10, 2011. Mary was surrounded by her children and grandchildren during her last days and will be deeply missed.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Margaret, brothers Peter and Edward, sister Jeannie, husband Max and grandson Jason.

She is survived by her sister Margaret; daughters, Sandra Sundsbo (Dan Streight), Maryann Flott (Cliff Flott) , Melanie Sundsbo Hughes (Wheeler Hughes); grandchildren, Laurie (Tim), Matthew (Tina), Sean, Keath, Leah, Andrea (Darryle), Jill (Tony); great-grandchildren, Seth (Sarah), Danny, Peter, Ashlyn, Dawson, Joshua, Aiden, Ivan, and baby Buccheri .

In the words of Mary...Cheerio!
