Condolences to the family. My three brothers, Dave, Mark and Matt and I grew up across the street from the Cherek family on Hillsdale Ave. We had many good times with the Cherek kids and interactions with Dorothy and Joe. All seasons we played outside and had lots of adventures together. We knew each other from the neighborhood and church and school.

Dear family, I and my sons, David and Steven, offer our sincere condolences for the loss of your mother. I only met your mother twice, but I remember her strong character, and know that she had a love for our Lord, and firm in her beliefs and values. She loved her family very much. I know this because of the family that surrounds her, as it did then and now. And I know that her spirit will remain with you always.

I remember Dorothy, the mother of my dear friend, Corinne, as a woman who always had a warm and friendly smile for you. She was always more interested in your life than sharing her own. I believe she was a strong woman who cared deeply for her family. One can only believe that her gifts of strength, faith and love are certainly the legacy she left behind in her children, grandchildren and others. I am so sorry for your loss.
