Ohh Jerry! I love you Jerry, I did the best I could for you over a 8 year timeframe but unfortunately without help from Nebraska When Michael had his infections I just could not give you what you needed and deserved anymore. Up until that point I knew home was the best place for you. The first year after you moved I know you got to go to day programs and get out and about a lot more. But you would see some changes including a move because of Covid concerns and the temporary guardianship you had needed to find someone new because he found himself too busy with life to give you the time and attention you required. That’s not counting the person you lived with that took care of you. You needed 24 hour care and attention and we couldn’t get that kind of support at home. Unfortunately I don’t know much about that last year you were here on earth. I lost all rights to know anything… but 3 days after you passed away someone came to my house that I had never seen before and she told me that you were gone, outside in our driveway, in the old wind and rain. Jerry I will never forget that moment, the shock, the sadness, and then the…. Well what can I do? Where is he? Can I see him? What happened? All normal questions but unfortunately I was at the mercy of this stranger, your new guardian… by the grace of God she came around to slowly giving me information…. But definitely not what I felt I deserved to know as family… it took 3 days but I’m thankful she found us. Jerry I’ve spent countless hours over the last 5 days on phone calls and tracking down all the things you deserve as a loved member of This family and I know we did right by you. Michael and I have done the best we could with what we had to work with. Thankfully your mom took care of some things before she passed. That helped alot. We love you Jerry!! I bet you are running around, talking freely, drinking and eating everyone else’s food and drinking, you now have an unlimited amount of paper, your socks will never be long again, you can sit in the shower for hours on end now if you like, you don’t have a bag to carry around anymore and you are welcomed by all with open arms!!! The best of the best is now yours.
We love you,
Michael Orange, Chantele Milton-Orange, Andy Milton, Madison Luna Milton, Klarissa Orange, and Mauricio Luna Nava.
