Richard E. "Rick" Barker, Sr., 66

Rick was born and raised in Omaha, NE. He passed away at his home after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Rick’s world was his family, friends and his pup, Bear. He loved hard and he made sure each of us knew it. He enjoyed spending his time riding his motorcycle, visiting with friends and family and being outdoors. Rick had a passionate love affair with ice cream, candy, and mountain dew. At all times, he would have an endless supply of candy to share with the little ones. Rick enjoyed telling stories, jokes and listening to rock and roll.

Preceded in death by his mother, Etta Barker; grandparents, Mayme and Emery Towle and Paul Proplesch; brother, Raymond Barker; sister, Cindy Barker; niece, Tabitha Barker; and nephew, Andrew Lineberry.

Survived by significant other, Marian Packett
children, Richard Barker Jr (Stephanie), Shila Kinsley (Aron), Tera Barker, and Bradly Barker
10 grandchildren, Caley Barker, Kyler Barker, TJ Brewer, Dylan Packett, Breanna Loud, Kiya Hazen, Matthew Hazen, Arianna Barker, Nathan Barker, and Izayah Barker
4 great grandchildren, plus 3 growing, Lovelynn Brewer, Lincoln Brewer, Paisley Brewer, and Kingston Packett
mother of the children, Cathy Artrip
siblings, Linda Barker, Debra Hays (Bob), Kenneth Barker (Evelyn), Bonnie Mensen (Rick), Pamelia Bourn, Crystal Lineberry, and Pamela Swearingin (Dan); sister-in-law, Barb Barker; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Following the interment, please join the family from 1:00 - 5:00 pm for a luncheon at the Disabled American Veterans Social Hall - 4515 F Street, Omaha, NE.
