Betty J. McLaughlin 94

Betty was born on March 27, 1923 in Winnebago, Nebraska. Throughout her life, she embodied the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 to "Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances." Her devotion to God and her children marked a life of self-less love, worship and fervent prayer that touched the lives of many in countless ways. She was blessed with a family of seven children and made her home in Omaha, Nebraska, where she served as a homemaker and in a variety of vocations. Committed to her faith in Christ, Betty was a constant presence in her church community serving in choral music, Sunday school instruction, Bible study, prayer ministry and a longtime volunteer at Lutheran and Veterans Hospital. With praises and prayers always on her lips, she now sings before her Savior's throne, though greatly loved and missed by her family, extended church family and friends.

Betty is survived by her son, Theodore St. Cyr (Lucia); her daughters, Candace St. Cyr-Muehling(Ron), Jo Ellen Wilson (Barry), Denise St. Cyr (Stephen Hauptman); 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis St. Cyr; her second husband, John McLaughlin; her sisters Alfreda Grant and Gwen Bahr; her parents; her children, Kevin Ashley, Mark James, Lugene Munson and her great grandchild, Cashmere Loh.
