Dorothy was born August 4, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska to John B. and Stella (Smrkovsky) Wild and passed away on April 16, 2015 after a long illness. She is a 1946 graduate of Omaha Technical High School. She worked for 9 years in the Finance Dept. of Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and was married to Howard E. Sowl, a union that lasted for 59 years until his death. She ended her employment to raise a family. Later, she started a second career for 14 years as a clerk in the Clerk of the District Court office for Douglas County, Nebraska. Dorothy was a long-time member of and secretary for the American Red Cross Gallon Club of Omaha and donated 50 pints of blood during her life. She loved flowers and nature, and greatly enjoyed traveling throughout the US and Europe. Survived by children John H. (Cindy) Sowl and Nancy M. (Jeff) Schober. Two grandchildren John W. and Rebecca A. Sowl, cousins and many friends.
